Breast augmentation is not a one-size-fits-all procedure. At the Mandell-Brown Plastic Surgery Center in Cincinnati and Springboro, we take special care during your consultation to understand your expectations. Breast augmentation homework

The success of your breast augmentation relies heavily on our understanding of your unique vision. We ask patients to review photos of breast augmentation results, and based on their honest personal opinions, bring specific photos to their consultation: 

• 3 photos of results that are one cup size too small
• 3 photos of results that are one cup size too large 
• 3 photos of results that are “perfect” cup size

These photos can be from our website, social media platforms, online forums, etc. We also suggest reviewing results on the Mentor™ breast implant website.

These photos aren’t necessarily used to determine implant size, shape, and profile, during your Cincinnati breast augmentation consultation. Instead, they are a dialogue starter to bridge the gap between expectation and possibility. Photos provide a tangible way for patients to communicate what they find appealing, too excessive, or just right in terms of size and shape. Having visual aids helps supplement verbal descriptions (which can sometimes be subjective or open to interpretation), and allow us to develop a more clear and shared understanding of your desired outcome.

Going beyond cup sizes

Cup sizes can vary significantly between clothing brands and look vastly different across multiple body types. Plus, breast implants are measured in cubic centimeters (cc)—not in cup sizes—so speaking in terms of cup size is not an accurate or reliable way to discuss volume ranges.
