Dr. Mark Mandell-Brown “Triple Board Certified Cosmetic Surgeon”
So you finally decided to consider plastic surgery, how do you pick a plastic surgeon in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana?
The most important considerations:
Are they board certified?
Dr Mandell-Brown is triple board certified in Facial Plastic Surgery, Body Cosmetic Surgery and Head & Neck Surgery. He specializes in “Natural Look” cosmetic surgery for the face and body, and he utilizes a “minimal incision” approach for the face and body.
Does the plastic surgeon teach other doctors and contribute to the medical literature?
Dr. Mandell-Brown holds live surgery workshops for physicians at the Mandell-Brown Plastic Surgery Center. He holds a teaching appointment at the University of Cincinnati College of Medicine and annually teaches medical students and residents. He has lectured throughout the United States and Canada. Dr. Mandell-Brown has authored over a dozen medical articles and served as a co-editor of four medical textbooks. He teaches an annual course on Breast Augmentation Surgery for the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.
Does the plastic surgeon spend time with you during the consultation, take your photos, and answer your questions, or does the staff perform these duties because the physician is too busy?
If the doctor is too busy before the surgery, just think how he/she will be after your surgery.
Do the doctors show you examples of their work?
We always show you examples of our patients. You will find our results are not “overdone” and look natural.
Does the office place high pressure on you to sign up for surgery?
Some offices don’t let you leave until you have committed to surgery. We want you to make an informed decision for yourself.
Finally, beware of some plastic surgery societies that self-promote and claim they are the only legitimate plastic surgery society. The American Society of Plastic Surgery (ASPS) is the most aggressive claiming it is the only legitimate plastic surgery society. However, physicians who pursue rigorous plastic surgery training may be members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery (AACS) or the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (AAFPRS).
