Liposuction

A highly requested cosmetic procedure for Dr. Mandell-Brown, liposuction, otherwise known as “lipoplasty,” is a surgical body sculpting procedure. Beneficial to those patients with areas of fat throughout the body that are resistant to diet and exercise, liposuction can be utilized on the following regions:

• Thighs
• Abdomen
• Flanks
• Breasts
• Buttocks
• Chin

Through the use of a small tube called a “cannula” that is inserted into the target areas, localized fat deposits may be detached from the body, and then suctioned out through the use of a small vacuum attached to the end of the cannula. This is a technique called traditional liposuction. Dr. Mandell-Brown also provides tumescent liposuction and ultrasound assisted liposuction to mold the body.

Afterward, the patient is left with new contours that could be permanent if a healthy lifestyle is maintained. Should a patient experience loose skin and weak abdominal muscles that cannot be corrected with liposuction, our Ohio liposuction expert may suggest tummy tuck surgery (“abdominoplasty”) to flatten the waistline.
